Shelf Gala 2017
On Saturday 1st July 2017 we have another very successful gala both in numbers attending and funds raised. Again the weather was very kind to us although early in the morning it fine but dull but the sun came out around 11.15am and remained shining all day as you will see from the slideshow above.

On stage and in the arena we had some great entertainment in the form of The Mellin Family with their Sheep Dogs and Ducks Show, Selah Sounds, a great local group, The Revolution Show Corps Marching Band from Queensbury, local dance group The Magpie Movers, Dance Stars and Suga Dance. We also had in the arena thr Northwind Tribal Dance Group from Bingley, the whole arena programme ably managed by our announcer, Pete Brierley.

All the preparations went fine, again we used the new layout for the stalls stalls which seems to work better. This year the procession started at Witts Car Park, left on Halifax Road to Bridle Stile. This year we had to employ the services of a traffic management company and although shorter than the original procession it enabled us to still include it as it is a big part of Shelf Gala. Unfortunately it doesn’t go all through the village. We also now have a number of walking floats which include small children so probably the original route would be too long. This year we could go all the way down Bridle Stile for the procession to enter tye arena.

A big thank you once again to our sponsors Interface, Blackshaw Holdings, Halifax VW, National Breakdown and anothr big thank you to Witts for use of their car park to assemble and start the procession. Another big thank you to all the advertisers in our programme who support us year after year.
